Space Slow Chapter 2:
Walking along a containment hallway his suit covered in random slime forms in random places upon his body. The attachment on the side of his suit was missing the suit looked to have a small bit of damage around the area. "Alright G16 is cleared.." groaning as he shuttered. "ugh after this shift I'm going to need a stiff drink." The consumption of alcoholic beverages while on duty is prohibited as of section 1.dc. page 37 of the emplo- Sighing softly as he interrupted the A.I. "Yes! I know the rules, I was just saying that a drink would be nice, but I will make sure. I'm off duty before engaging in anything against company policy while on duty." He waited for a moment making sure the A.I. wasn't going to speak. Lifting up his arm to get a reading for any more notifications for jobs, he had left to go do. Some of the slime moved, slowly crawling along his arm. "Ugh, this is going to be a long day." The A.I. chimed in once again, There is no sun around for it to be daylig- Throwing his arms up in the air, "YES! yes-yes I know... Thank you, you're very informative.. Now please highlight the nearest job site, and decontamination station." leaning his down holding his helmet in his hand. Nearest job site located uploading route. Nearest contamination station has been located near route.
"Thank you." grumbling to himself continued down the hallway on staying away from the public. Even though he was talking and sometimes yelling, no sound could be heard from outside of his helmet which was sealed along his suit. Heading down the hallways making sure to keep his distance from those wondering about their lives. He did stop for a moment as a exotic creature passed him by, his eyes followed her eyes then along the curves of her face. She smiled before looking his way before passing him by heading in the opposite way than him. His eyes couldn't stop staring quickly looking in front of him as they both continued walking. His helmet lowered some in deep thought, "Was.. that one of my ex's?" The A.I. played back the video from his helmet, zooming in on her face as the playback stopped for a moment. Scanning the facial features in front of him, he almost tripped before stopping in the hallway once more.
Staring at her eyes and the way she smiled getting lost seeing her after so long. She could light up his whole world with just a smile "Wow."Was all he could think to say, staring at her picture clearing his throat some with a soft sniffle from his nose. Correct, that is Mrs. ( name draconic female) Interrupting the A.I. yelling and shouting "I know her name! don't say it.. don't.. please don't say it." Yes, that is her. looked down at his own arms remembering the feeling of her body in his embrace. The way she would lay her body against him, looking down at his arms the illusion quickly left seeing the suit he wore. Inappropriate conduct "What?! I.. I did nothing I was just looking! Wait, I was just having a good memory! How is that a inappropriate conduct?!"
Yelling at the A.I. as they argued though nobody could hear them, but all they could see was his arms waving about and gesturing. "Alright fine! I can still think about it.. just can't do it okay.. agreed?" Consulting company policy one moment. Sighing heavily shaking his head walking as if nothing happened just a few moments ago. The slime covering his suit was moving around but was unable to leave from it. The slime was moving along his back towards his tail. You have arrived at the contamination station. There is no rule about thinking about inappropriate conduct as long as it does not retain physical encasement.
"Good.. Alright, well bring up the company purchase card for decontamination stations and lets get this over with." Affirmative. Walking into the station lifting his arm up to the console in the middle of the room, as it scanned his code into the system. -Id confirmed Purchase required please make a selection.- -A. Basic cleansing B. Improved Cleansing C.- "A basic cleansing please." A moment went by before the floor began moving under his feet sealing his feet to the floor spreading his legs slightly. Lifting his arms up to his sides, "No place like home.. no place like home.. no place like hoooommmmee.." No place like home by the edge crickets. Now playing. Have a pleasant cleansing sir. His ears were filled up with the music, his tail flicking side to side before getting pulled back behind him. " No place.. like... HOOOOOME!!" He yelled out as the washers began to decontaminate the suit he was wearing.
The decontamination began as his body was sprayed every inch with high powered washers soaking the suit in a foam. Short spurts of electric shot through his body from the foam, He was shaking and legs trembling as the slime was dissolving from his suit. The decontamination didn't last long as the song played on in his helmet. The radio in his helmet began going off with an incoming call. It wasn't long before it automatically answered the call, there was only audio available, 'Hello? Hello?? You there or you slacking off' His helmet shook slightly as he slowly stood with the washer's and a foam substance covering his body chilling him to the bone. "Yes sir.. I just got done.... decontaminaton in G16.. about to head to the next job site.... In cleans-zzed" Groaning as his body shook as a bit of electric shocking him from the foam. As the foam began to melt away each part of his suit felt like it was on fire as the washers soaked his body that was coming through the foam. 'Good! Good.. now listen I'm taking you off those other jobs. This one takes top priority, I need my best man on the job.' There was a moment of silence as staring at the blank screen of the helmet "Best man on the job huh? Sure, best one to get far away right?.. but I'll bite what do you want?" It was at the end of the cleansing, his whole body from the tip of his tail to the tiptoes of his feet was throbbing with pain. Stumbling around in the cleansing station with his legs wobbling as if he was just kicked in the groin and everywhere else at the same time. 'GOOD! GOOD! I knew you were the man for the job. I'm sending your A.I. the job listing now.' On the screen he could see his boss leaning close to the phone with a grinning smile, 'This is a big job, if you mess this one up then it's so long..' the video feed cut out as the call ended. "Good.. fat.. no good.. ooo my balls."
Slowly lowering down to his knees cupping his groin, his tail coiled up around his legs. Inside the station an android walked up beside him, The android tended to his suit fixing the damage to his side, his body trembled for a moment. "There has to be a better way.." The lower levels cleansing stations become more violent as you descend according to the recent reviews by deleted account "Ugh.. Yes, thank you. deleted account. I am well aware of that." Slowly standing back up, with the help of the android as they both looked at each other. Noticing the android had a bit of slime on it's arm, wiping off the slime as it dissolved with his touch. Waving, thanking the android before making his way out of the cleansing station.
The android kept checking its body part that had the slime on it, soon waving back to him. The android seemed to be excited about the slime being removed, a job had been accepted and paid out to him shortly as an 'appreciation bonus' notification popped up on his visor. "Didn't have too, but thank you. I will make good use of this." Turning down the hallway, Setting route to newest job location site. "Oh I hope this is a easy job.." stretching out his arms some while walking down the hallways towards the elevator to the upper levels. "So question.. What's the job? What's the companies policy and rules that will be put into play during the job?"
Making his way down the hallway glancing at a window at the stars and planets around them at the moment. Stopping at the elevator doors Checking data banks and records Scanning the arm of his suit against the pad next to the doors. To current records no previous jobs have been filed under this company.. Correction individual. The doors opened up from the elevator as he walked inside lifting a brow to the correction. "Individual? So this isn't a company job? A private contractor? or just someone with that kind of money to throw around.." His eyes went wide a bit thinking about it, "ship.." He whispered to himself, clenching his fist with a boost to completing this job either as soon as possible or make it the best he could ever do. 'Heh. I guess this would be the best job for me.. I see your challenge boss.. You'll be calling me captain soon!'
Records show it is not. Shall I proceed? Doors closing as the elevator began lifting towards the higher levels. "Yes. Go ahead with the job details. But more importantly are we scheduled for detachment from dock A1087?" Correct, we are ready to leave soon as we arrive. "Great.. anyways go ahead with the job details." Gladly The A.I. began giving a briefing on what the job would entitle and what was expected. Arriving at the floor he was allowed to enter making his way to his ship. "Ah.. so a butt load of cits for a extract and transport." Correct "Ugh that means I won't be able to take this suit off when we arrive.." Affirmative, as the policy rules s- "Yeah, yeah I know.. no physical contact with any of the job site personal and contaminants. which means suit stays on and just do that job... got it."
Correct but shouldn't you say goodbye? It made him stop for a moment before shaking his head. "Best she didn't know I was even here.." But statistics report best was for closure of past rela- Smacking the helmet, over his head "I said its for the best, okay?! SHE'S BETTER OFF! She's better off." He stepped onto the platform shaking his arms some filled with rage, the arms of the suit quickly expanded to compensate the sudden stress on the fabric of the suit. He continued walking towards the control panel lifting his arm up to the light field scanning his wrist. "I'm the lowest on the ladder.. she isn't. So best we just.." His hand touching the control panel as his arms started to shrink back down as he took deep breaths. His ship would be picked out and moved to the platform so he could leave. Standing there not moving as he stared off in space. "She looked happy right?" Affirmative her scans indicated her body was filled wit- "Stop.. I get it.. just a yes would be a simple answer." Yes, she was indicating happiness. A moment of silence came around as he cleared his throat "Cool.."
Nodding his head lowering his head down some, his glove gripped onto the control panel his helmet staring off into space at the control panel. The ship was being loaded into the platform, it didn't take long, hoovering above the platform ready for immediate launch. The A.I. chimed snapping him back as his helmet lifted up looking at the ship. "Oh.. Yeah." He said in a somber tone reaching up as a light shined down scanning his wrist. A latch opened up, a bar slowly lowered down to him. He grabbed a hold of the bar as the glove of his suit attached itself to the bar lifting him inside. Routing engaged. auto-pilot on. Disengaging sequence ready. Looking down at the platform noticing how his feet looked in the suit. "I need to do better.. Maybe next time. next time, ha. Yeah, sure next time." The bar clicked and stopped as he dangled there halfway up to the ship.
Groaned, "Oh yeah. The latch needs some repair." Lifting his legs up twisting his body quickly around before snapping the bar back into place. The bar shocked him through his gloves for a second before reactivating. Looking up at the bar "Am I, not good enough for you either?" Glancing at the ship his head lowered by down looking at his feet as he moved them side to side. "I don't deserve this ship.. I can barely take care of it.." Pulling him inside through a doorway. "I gotta do better.." His feet touched the floor of the ship the door closing behind him. Staring for a moment through the small window, seeing a light on the platform glowing different colors before stopping on a solid yellow. Turning away from the door, he headed towards the control center in the ship.
He was in the loading/unloading bay coming from the personnel entrance. Walking through a forest with filled with different animals and creatures scattered along the path. A single pod unit was attached to the path with a zero above the pod door. The pod was clear except for the silhouette of a creature with large ears. A large cord attached to it's back, the figure stood inside frozen with it's head pointed to the floor. It's arms hung low to the ground with long connectors coming from it's palm almost touching the floor. ()
He walked along a corridor towards the cockpit. "Alright wait until. I take a look around first." The station has cleared us for launch, they also have a reminder of the bill if we stay any longer it will be raised. with an extra docking fee Arriving in the cockpit quickly pulling himself into the captains seat and binding himself to the seat.
"Alright fiiine.. I'm in lets go." 'Yes sir, clearance has already been granted. Disconnection from docking station and lift off in 3 the doors latched close sealing the ship 2 the anti-gravity was turned on. 1.. Disconnection is a success. The A.I. communicated the company slogan and reassurance as they exited the docking station and out into the great black beyond. We are now clear of docking station and leaving space station Zel 4oi . "Ugh, this should be dull as ever..." Taking a deep breath for a moment before exhaling crossing his arms in front of him. A small screen upon the dashboard flashed as the ship regained more functions as it left the station's electronic range. Unbinding himself from the seat as he floated up a bit from his seat, moving around in zero gravity. "Alright, now I'm checking the ship unless there is any other complaints?" It is safe to move about the ship, do you wish the gravity, on? "No, run a self diagnostic while I check us out on the inside." Affirmative Grabbing a hold of a bar pulling himself through the corridor's and pathways around the ship checking it for any contamination, anything that needed attention.
System report, all systems working at optimal efficiency. "Good, how much time before we reach the destination at the speed we are going now?" Calculating.... It will take two weeks to reach the location at our current speed. Grabbing a hold of a bar yelling at a small vented speaker, "Two weeks?! We need to be there soon as possible thou!" Frustrated tossing himself from the bar and soared down the hallway spinning in a slow circle. "Alright, speed up. I want us there within a week." Unacceptable. Company policy dictates, how fast we can travel. "Right.." sighing softly, "Then, call headquarters for permission to speed up for the job. We need to get there soon as possible, and it can be done just as quick." Turning on the gravity as he walked along the railway's. Calling. "Good you call. I'm going to take a break shift is over and now it's time for celebrating!" A sliding door opened up showing a empty room, only a small bed in the corner and a clear door with a small screen.
"Ah, welcome home and hello beautiful miss me?" He looked towards the bed and small room reaching up unsealing the helmet from the suit. Request approved. Speeding up to location. The ship suddenly jolted forward as the speed was increased. "WAIT, WHAT?! ALREADY?!" he said stumbling around grabbing a hold of the doorway, reattaching his helmet frantically. "How long before we arrive?!" Approximately five minutes. "FIVE MINUTES?!" As he was talking with the A.I. making his way on his hands and knees pulling himself along the floor towards his bed Please find appropriate seating to lessen injury "LESSEN INJURY?! I'll lessen your injury." Pulling himself up against his bed and bound himself to the side. "Ohh.. remind me not to have you go this fast again.." Holding onto his stomach as it growled for food and from the rough force its being put through.
"Couldn't this wait until I get back on shift?!" Mandatory overtime has been summited and received as requested in order to arrive in a efficient amount of time. Holding onto the bed trying to stay stable, laying in bed half glad to be in bed, before yelling out "YOU NEGOTIATED THE TERMS TO GO FASTER.. WITH MY TIME OFF?!!!" he roared out in anger shaking his fist while in bed. Yes, it was most effective way to get approval for your request. "Dam.. fine. Message of when we shall arrive." His legs shake some as he stood up from his bed, Affirmative, please remain seated. "Five minutes right? well someone needs to make preparation's then so give me a few more minutes to get everything set up first dammit!." Understood, we will arrive when preparations are complete. the ship slowed slightly, as he groaned. "Stupid machine.. company.. no good.." muttering to himself, making his way out of his room and to the other rooms aboard the ship.
A screen shined in the helmet listing of all the items that will be transporting and a smaller list of who shall be on board during escorting. "This stuff looks like what a transporter would be hauling.. Why contact our company for this? We're not a escort service.." 'Reason unknown, but crits are high for normally a small fee. according from reports from other companies.' Giving a light sigh, quickly moving around the extra rooms and storage area of the ship. "Dam.. So how long are we escorting and transporting the cargo?" Undetermined. There has not been a amount of time appointed. "What?.. I.. ugh that's why he was soo.." growling some. "Best we have... This is such bullshit!" After making adjustments for the cargo and personal that will be aboard the ship.
He sat down in the captain seat and watched as they approached a large world. 'Setting coordinates to planetary orbit arriving at destined location for loading.' The ship orbited the planet not getting any closer, 'A transmission for approval to approach has been received.' "Is it the client?" 'Correct' "Alright, lets get this over with, give them approval." Looking at the screens on the dashboard, staring at a large ship approaching from the other side of the planet. "Hmm." clicking on the screen looking at the details of the job once more. "Ah.. I guess that explains a bit, so its a no touch cargo. meaning they load and unload it... well at least I won't have to interact with them." His gloves gripped the arm of his chair holding it chuckling softly with glee. "Which means. I DON'T HAVE TO WEAR THIS UNIFORM! ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS TRANSPORT!"
Laughing happily thinking about his bed and shower and food awaiting him. 'Incorrect, however it is correct that it is loaded and unloaded by those we are escorting but if you reread the contract the fine print. Sir you will be given routine bio-food, decontamination, and lastly adrenaline treatments as needed through the duration of the contract.' His eyes went wide shaking in his seat reading thought it again and again. "No.. no no no no, but my bed.." 'I'm sorry to inform you but your quarters will also be in use while in transportable.' Sighing heavily, "So this is where I'll be during the whole time?!" Thinking about it a bit, leaning back in his seat crossing his arms agitated at the small details he had overlooked. "Hmm well I guess it won't be that bad."
Sitting in the captains seat as he let the autopilot, the other ship move towards them to dock. He was invested in the images and work order thinking of why, how else could he have gotten ripped off my his boss. 'Ship will be docked in 2 minutes, estimated loading time is undetermined.' Nodding his head with a sigh as he listened to the A.I. "Yeah, well this should be.. so much fun." Rolling his eyes some, after rereading the work order. "I suppose watching them load it couldn't hurt.. It doesn't say I couldn't watch" 'Affirmative, that is along the guidelines of the contract.' getting up from his seat and slowly made his way to the loading, storage bay. Once he had arrived the ships were sealed in tight ready for the transfer of cargo. Grabbing ahold of the railing as he leaned over some, leaning against the railing with his arms. There was a console near him, getting a notification from the other ship they were ready on their end. He would let the A.I. respond with a all clear, reaching out his arm and tapped upon the screen as the bay doors began opening.
Once docked and connected the cargo bay doors hissed open allowing the load crew to start hauling what few crates were needed for delivery. some were small and medium in size with labels of delivery locations. It took the Crew bout 15 mins to load till the last crate was ready to load, this was loaded in more carefully to its much bigger size n length, it hovered as they slowly pushed it into the cargo bay finding a safe place to set it and carefully lowered it down with a soft hiss disconnecting the hover plates, One of the crew members carefully looked over the electronic readings on the crate taking a few notes on a clipboard and headed out. On his way out a larger man walked in seeming armed and with a duffel bag, he glanced over the room and scuffed under his breath before moving to the large crate and giving it a kick, seeming satisfied he tossed his duffel bag on the crate and took his stance nearby it with a grunt.
Staring as a crew of Sezeirk's were aboard his ship putting equipment and other oddities into the staging area. "Sezeirk's? These are the employers?" The AI chimed into his helmet talking with him. 'Unknown, no details given of species that are the employers.' "Mhm sounds fishy to me.. but money is money, I guess.." When the last container was loaded in and the one male that had personal belongings it seemed. "Our guest then.." Standing upon the stairway leaning against the railing with his arms crossed in front of him. "Could be worse I guess.. patch through" 'Affirmative' Descending down the stairs towards the man. "Are you the plus 1?" He would ask simply as his voice could be heard from inside his helmet.
The man standing over the large crate noticed movement turning his attention towards the approaching captain as he resting a hand on a hilt by his waist, he stared him down a moment, before responding in a gruff disgruntled voice "Aye.....I assume y're the captain of this hunk of metal" continuing to keep his hand on his side hilt as he stared down the man before him. Standing nearby as he looked at the large crate then back at the man "Yes.. I believe you'll be staying for a while.. The quarters you will be using is right this way..." Looking up at the man which wasn't much taller than him. He would then walk back to the stairs and turned leading the way to the quarters that the guard would be using. "So... Are all these yours?" He asked while leading the way, he looked about the room making sure it was clear before grabbing his bag's and following the captain up the stairs as he lead the way "My job is to guard the large create, where it goes I go, no one is to get into it, nothing is to get out of it, the rest of the cargo is assigned destination for normal delivery, medical supplies, food, etc. larger one is not mine, but assigned to it...." he muttered last part under his breath "Rather be back at the ranks station" cleared his throat as if to cover up his disgruntled opinion while keeping an eye on the path he was being lead on glancing into any rooms they passed.
sighing softly, as they walked he showed where the rooms were and what they were before showing the room that was for the man. The storage docking bay was the first room of course followed by two eating areas with one being a actual kitchen and the other a table and build in stall with a replicator for an instant meal. A med bay filled with medical supplies, he seemed a bit proud of it. Along the way they would pass by a few doors locked with employees only signs on them. He didn't say what they were and didn't acknowledge them as they passed. It did seem odd to have a one person crew aboard a vessel as this one. The suit he wore gave no sign to his gender although when he talked it would be clear to some. A few other areas he did show before arriving at his quarters offering it to the man although he didn't want to. "and this is where you will be staying." the A.I. chimed in over the intercom so both of them can hear. 'Captain your needed on the bridge.' a heavy sigh. "very well alright well that's all." with that he waved goodbye and headed to the bridge.
The guard just followed along observing ear room as they passed by getting a description of what each room was and did. He gave a soft grunt to each, he mostly was checking to make sure they were empty or to have a headcount of all ship occupants and keeping a mental note to everything he was seeing. Watching as the Captain left he stood silently for a moment before going into the cabin quarters, glancing around he grumbled softly a bit, tossing his bag on the bed "Could be worse" deciding to sort his stuff out later he headed back out and moseyed his way to the crate walking a bit loudly as it echoed thru the room before taking his place by the crate once more. He stared at the crate for a moment then gave it a kick once more before turning his back to it.
Walking to the bridge it was time to leave, getting notifications about when and where they would be heading. Raising his brow a bit "So they want us to go there? .. but it says it isn't anything immediate.." Sitting down upon the captains seat as he began to disconnect from the ship and head towards where they needed to go. "This will take forever.." He complained but the bridge was on lock down sealing the other in the ship giving them only access to where they are needed and nowhere else. It wasn't long before the suit connected to the captains seat strapping him down as he was in control of the navigation and all else of the ship. "No more jobs after this for... at least a month understood?" The A.I. chimed in giving a light tone of agreement. The ship disconnected as they both departed in different directions.
The guard remained standing by the crate as they took off listening to the sounds of the ship as he stood there for the first few hours before getting bored, glances about the cargo bay as he stretched his body with a few groans. After awhile he started to pace stretching his legs and walk back and forth to pass the time.
The ship was passing a golden blue planet, when a notification came up on his screen as a call. "Answer.." It was his boss once again, with a grinning face ear to ear. ''Ah, that's a good lad. I knew you were the one for the job.. best, I have remember?" Snapping back "MY foot! What the hell are you having me deliver?!" 'Now now you haven't even seen your account yet have you?' There was a moment of silence as he soon began tapping on a different control panel. His eyes went wide as his jaw dropped. "Ba-a..w-wa?" There was laughing with a snort, a thickly cigar being placed in his mouth with a grin. 'You should see mine. hahaha You got the left overs.' "LEFTOVERS?! YOU!" biting his tongue as his wide eye snapped into a deadly glare. "Thank you.. Now what do you want?" 'Another job has popped up along the way.. the station you just left still needs done and nobody else is around to.' Reaching over as he ended the call "Nope sorry.. I'm on another job so find someone else you.. old hateful little boy" He had already hung up but still wanted to curse him out but ended up disconnecting the line and focused back on piloting. A shot of adrenaline was put into his side "Ouch.. Crap okay, okay i'm awake i'm not going to sleep.."
in the back the guard had made himself comfortable out of boredom, noone else was on the ship so he took advantage of the peace n quiet as he made himself comfortable within the pile of crates dozing off to sleep. After awhile the large crates power fluxed letting off a beep, a small yellow light began to slowly flash on the control panel. The guard woke slightly to the noise glancing around the room then to the crate unable to see the Panel from where he sat, it was still on from what he could see and caused no suspicion to the noise as he drifted himself back to sleep. The crate itself softly began to hum
Closing his eyes for a moment and like a blink of an eye four months had gone by. The guard was alone throughout that time with the part of the ship he was allowed to go. They were still a long way away from the destination and no other transmission was given or sent out in that time. The ship only stopped at places to refuel before heading back out again. 'Attention' "Hmm? what is it?" 'Scans have picked up a distress signal transmission nearby.' stretching only to pop and snap his joints as he adjusted himself in his seat "Alright.. let it through."
during that time the guard had been annoying like a child during refill station stops constantly asking " we there yet?" "how much longer?" "Why did i have to be assigned this job" he had noticed the new blinking light on the Crate but dare not touch any of the buttons on it incase it released whatever was inside. After some time it was forgotten about as he continued to stand guard over the crate as well as sleep during most his shifts as he had nothing better to do besides a game of solitaire from a card deck he had in his luggage
the transmission was cutting in and out having only audio. [this... fleet 2289.. assistance.. ] The audio was on repeat as the ship continued onward on its path. "scan the area .. I have a bad feeling about this.." the ship accelerated some as he began tapping on the console. Only adjusting the ships direct when the A.I. had found the location of the transmission. Cautiously approaching the coordinates they passed a planet which on the other side was a ship badly damaged. "On screen.." as the image grew on screen the ship was scattered into pieces in a area some pieces being pulled down into the planet below. "Scan for li.." there was a lump in his throat. Clearing his throat a few times before taking a deep breath. "scan for .. l-life forms." 'Scanning' while the A.I. scanned for life forms he did his own scan to see if there was any energy still in the wreckage. 'Scan complete no life forms detected.' his head hung low closing his eyes for a moment 'Unknown organic substance detected along ships interior substance is growing at an alarming rate'
the guard could sense something of with the course of the ship, he paused in the middle of his card game before getting to his feet, he stopped by the Crate glancing it over once more and as usually gave it another kick before making his way across the cargo bay. Climbing up the stairs he made his way to the cockpit n banged on the door "yo! what's goin on? why did we shift?" his voice gruff and annoyed
"Ah, I see.. well" Keeping a distance as he continued his scan, finding some energy in the middle of the ship, "We will be keeping a safe distance from that then.." Going over the intercom "I'd hold onto something.." the ship sharply shifted and turned around as the thrusters upon the back of the ship grazed a piece of debris. The engine cut off for a second before going into full, burst of thrust as the ship took off. The piece of debris was sent into the ship from the momentum it was given from the thrusters. It wasn't long before the transmission ended as the destroyed ship fell into the planet. They were back on their way on course.
the guard waited and was about to pound on the door again before the intercom chimed in " the hell is..." before he could finish his sentence he was thrown to the side as the ship turned then rolled off the walkway to the cargo floor below as the ship took off redirecting its course, the collision with the left over debris caused the cargo to shift sliding across the bay floor creating a mess. The large create slammed against the opposing wall, the monitor flashing a few times before resuming, a second light began flashing below the first flashing light. Once things calmed down the guard slowly pulled himself to his feet cursing under his breath before yelling in anger "The Hell is wrong with you? trying to kill us all?!" he quickly moved to the crate checking it over noticing the second light then began pushing it back into place in the cargo bay as he tried to straighten up the mess
hanging his head low as he turned autopilot on. 'This is against the work order' "countless people just lost their lives.. rule this under loss of kin." 'Understood a day of rest has been requested.' "Just.. just take over for a bit I'm going to walk around." getting up from the captains seat as the suit became disconnected from the seat giving shots of adrenaline and fluids to stimulate his muscles. While the four months he was almost in a paralyzed state. His arms were able to move along with his legs but the rest of his body like a trance was still. Getting up from the seat he almost immediately fell to the ground. "ugh shhhh.. I forgot about this.."
the guard muttered under his breath as he cleaned up the bay, some smaller creates having broken open as he tried to organize the mess " this is not my job, all i was to do was watch a box till it got dropped off, now this shit..." he raised his voice " if that box breaks we are all dead, ya hear me?!" lowering his voice again as he continued to mutter "Just fly straight there, that's all ya had to do...Noooo detour and cause chaos, nearly kill us in the process..." continued picking up spilled packages, tossing them into the small crate and began hammering the lid back down
Crawling up back to the chair helping himself back up "There has to be a better way.. this is crap" He stood up for a moment and began to walk again like he was a little child walking for the first time, his muscles getting the exercise that they needed. Shifting back and forth soon moving his legs hopping around like a rabbit. Walking around the bridge stretching out his legs for the moment before staring out through the screen saying a silent prayer for those that were gone.
he finished picking up the last of the mess putting them in the correct boxes for delivery, nailing the lid back down making sure it was secured before siting down to take a break. he gave a glare towards the captains door then wiped his face with his arm sleeve. Turning his attention back to the large Create that he was to be guarding, it was a bit banged up but still seemed to be sealed, the controls where not reading the same as when it was loaded, he didn't know what they meant or what they were for, he just knew it was to remain closed, nothing in, nothing out. Getting back on his feet he slowly walked around it checking it over carefully seeming somewhat satisfied and went back to sitting himself down gathering up his scattered deck of cards
If there was any real danger there would be more turbulence, or he could make it so the whole ship was weightless. Praying, but as soon as he closed his eyes he fell asleep heavily. It was like he was dead asleep nothing could awake him. His dreams twisted and shifting off to other places randomly. His thoughts unclear before snapping back to reality lifting his head up and looked around. Checking to see what time it was and where they would be. It was only a minute gone by, standing back up from his prayer and walked back to the captain's seat. "Another ship.. fleet 2289 of unknown origin has been destroyed.. unknown reason I have set a course to get us out of here before whatever whoever does not come after us.. So be on guard and read yourself back there." Over the intercom he spoke.
hearing the the captain thru the intercom he scowled under his breath almost like a growl, he yelled back unsure how well he could be heard " if this this gets out of the crate, we are both screwed!...ya hear me?!" glancing to the deck of cards in his hand he had just picked up and chucked them back into the air out of frustration as he muttered heavily under his breath. He stared with a glare to the cargo bay packages before stomping off to the captains quarters where he was stationed. Flops heavily on the bed as he began taking apart his holstered weapons n began cleaning them to calm himself down
The ship was going a bit faster to get out of the area, the A.I. would scan every once in a while but only found the usual meteor or debris. He wouldn't be able to hear what the guard had to say, but would figure he would do something to help at least.
after awhile the guard finished cleaning his weapons and putting them back together as he holstered them back on his person, reaching into his bag he rummaged about trying to find something with helpful information as he pulled out a stack of notes n carefully read thru them hoping to get an idea of what was in the crate and what the readings on the monitor meant
April 24, 2021
Was being very cautious and nervous as he was making the ship move faster as they began coming into an asteroid belt. The ship swerved and swayed as two and three more ships appeared before they entered into the belt. "We have company! Hold onto something Asteroid belt!" He explained in the intercom as the ship was shifting back and forth as pieces of asteroid began to explode and shift towards the ships. It was a mine asteroid field as the other ships were closing in only two or three had exploded into the asteroid pieces. There was a transmission that repeated calling out in different languages calling for them to stop and that they owned an item on the ship. "Ha.. Yeah right not here not going to happen.." He said to himself, only a few of the asteroids scrapped along the sides of the ship as he was staying in the asteroid mine field. The ship spinning around swerving and swaying was a bit of a smooth ride only a few sharp movements that would make both the crate move and the guard be tossed to a side.
he looked up from his papers where he sat on the bed "what?! well shit!" quickly shoves the papers back into his bag as he packed his weapons back in his holsters as he made his way back to the cargo bay. The guard had to hold on to the walls as he tried to walk down the platform due to the driving of the ship. "for a captain you sure cant drive" half muttering to himself n half voiced raised as he tried to get down the stairs before getting tossed to the floor as the ship jolted causing the crates to slide again "god damn it man" Struggling to get on his feet again
Driving the best he could, while keeping a bit of distance from the ships that remained. He would flip the switch to let the transmission go to the intercom. It was another race demanding for the ship to stop and give them what rightfully belonged to them "YOU KNOW WHAT THEY WANT?!" The captain would call out to the guard, it was obvious but easily missed a intercom, com button near the bay door. "I don't know how long I can stay in this belt.. We don't have weapons upon my ship.. You have training right? better get ready for them if they catch up to us."
" do i know what they want....the hell....i dont even know who is out there.." he staggers about trying to keep to his feet as he made his way over to the door and slamming his hand on the button "I'm trained for fighting, but I don't have a lot on me, as much as I hate your driving cant you loose them in the field? bash them into them? I don't know who they are but I'm guessing they want my crate...and I don't know how much more damage that thing can take, it seems to be loosing power or something"
grumbled "Well I'm driving to save our lives so yes I am doing what I can?! Okay so do what you can back there so we don't have a shit fe-fuck!" The intercom cut off as he swerved the ship around. The ship was shot which made it hit the side of a asteroid sending the ship spiraling around. Stabilizing, for a moment as there was a sudden jerk as the ship was being pulling with a beam. "Shit.. shit.." *Scanning around as he began using a small pad near his leg, the opposite side of the ship that hadn't got hit shot a anchoring hook into a * "Coming on.." As the ship was being pulled, along with the asteroid, shifting the ship side to side, before rotating around in circles sending the asteroid around slamming it into two ships as the anchor snapped off the ship.
the sudden jerk of the collision caused the guard and the crates to slide n crash against the other side of the cargo bay getting pinned under some of the crates, he struggled to push it off him as he crawled up out of the mess. He sat himself ontop of the Large Crate trying to regain his composure while checking the crate control panels over, they seemd the same from last time he checked it. Holding onto the crate lid he grabbed one of his weapons n powered it on making sure it was good to go and ready for anyone to show themselves
staying in the asteroid belt as the ship rotated with a asteroid almost docking to it as it tried to hide from any other ships that might be awaiting them on either side. "ugh.. okay anymore.. any more?" scanning all around as he could luckily and unluckily the scans only picked up the asteroid's. "well can't see them can't see us I hope... damage report.." The A.I. had just finished a self dynastic upon the ship. 'repairs needed to outer haul' a schematic showed of the whole ship in his helmet highlighting places damaged and the parts needed to be fix each spot. "ugh.. repair or wait.. repair or wait.. keep scanning and searching for other ships... and life forms." turning on the intercom. "lost them for now.. in an asteroid belt." as he turned the intercom off leaning back in his chair. Staring at the ship damage report that was along side the ship schematic. "Nothing major.. we'll make it to the next station right? What's the next checkpoint station nearby?" the damage report moved to the side as a listing of stations nearby popped up. "... hmm"
the guard continued to sit anchored himself to the crate protecting it while ready for anyone to storm the Bay, hearing the intercom he relaxed laying back against the crate using it like a bed with a grunt of relief "i need a vacation after this..." the crate beeped once as one of the flashing lights became solid, the guard rotated himself around looking to the panel giving a displeased groan unsure what to make of the changes of the controls " i dont like this..."
Sitting in the chair and thinking for a bit "Alright, ZemoX-3 station will work." Standing up and as the ship was staying in orbit with a asteroid. Walking out of the bridge and heading towards one of the sealed doors only for employees. He took out a small control panel next to the door putting in a code as the door opened. The guard would have heard a door open nearby, in the room he walked through. There were many devices and gizmos along the walls, only stopping near the back as he began rummaging through a pile of devices taking out a few pieces here and there. Grabbing a small box and began placing pieces from the walls into the box then closing it. "This should work for a bit"
the guard sat up looking over to the sound of a door, he watched a moment then got up and made his way over standing himself in the doorway with his arms crossed as he watched quietly before speaking in a heavy voice " im not a man of concern, but im becoming one with this shipment package"grunted softly as if he hated to admit anything
Placing a device on his suit which stuck where, he placed "Yeah well.. You're not the only one.. So if you have any information what the hell I'm transporting would be great" Not sounding too happy about having his ship attacked for something he was transporting. Getting up to his feet as he walked over to the doorway looking at the man. "Now I have to fix what I can so we can get to the nearest station to get it fix and hopefully.. out of this asteroid belt and away without anymore ships.."
the guard stared at him for awhile then raised a hand wiping at his face " I honestly don't know. I wasn't told. They just said its best I don't know and that it stays in the container. Thats what I got hired for. Making sure it stays in n nothing gets out. No questions asked....but the control panel is changing....idk if its damaged or what it means or how to fix it....." He paused a moment "all I do know is its dangerous. This...thing was captured and being sent away. Idk where. But according to reports it caused alot of damage n took alot of lives....i dont even know what it was after...but everyone seems to be afraid of it"
listening to the guard on duty. "so what's in the crate is alive.." thinking about it for a bit before he yelled at the guard "IS THIS SUPPOSE TO BE ITS PRISON FORVER THEN!?!?! THERES NO DESTINATION!! JUST A COORDINATES TO RANDOM PLACES!!" he shook from frustration before walking past the guard. " well talk later I have to go repair." stomping off to the airlock in another room. The room he was in closed and sealed up infront of the guard.
the guard stepped back a bot from the yelling bit surprised and confused to the thought " i was not told where it was going, i sure as hell hope this isnt that, like hell i wana be held up in this heap of junk! for as im concered just drop it off someplace barren! whos gonna know?" he was silent a moment in thought as the captain had already walked past him n shut the door " if ya do drop it off, drop me off at my home, cause i sure as hell dont wan be with it anymore!" he headed off back thru the Bay and gave the Crate a kick in frustration before heading back up to his temp quarters and began rummaging thru his bag
walking out into space he was seething with rage making his way to the parts he could repair. Using the devices and different thing he picked up from the box. Every once in a while watching out into space to see if he could find anything. Not ing but asteroid's and pieces of ships old and new. "this would be a good place to search for things.." he would make a note while tapping on his wrist a small pad inputting it for later. "well your not the only one that doesn't want to be locked up... stuck doing this.. I have my own plans." checking his account again just to be sure. His eyes widened seeing at how much it grew. "... this is too good to be true " thinking about it as it took him an hour or two to fix what he could before getting back inside. He walked past the storage bay and stared at the crate.
the Guard found the papers he was lookin for and sat reading thru them again hoping for some form of answers on what the thing was or what to do with it. The crate Sat quietly occasionally giving off a soft hum, the control panel still showing half green and half yellow lights, one still flashing. Tho as the Captain stared at it another green light turned yellow and began flashing as it let out a beep sound. The guard showed up handing the Captain some papers with a grunt "...noone suppose to see these, but with the situation at hand it might help answer a few questions, its a bit vauge so take from it what ya will on the information. it mentions a quadrant, not one anyone is familiar with, another location not to many wish to go looking for from what i heard of it..... maybe thats where it belongs..."
deep in though before looking over at the guard and papers, reading over them. "you didnt read these before hand?" he asked glancing at the crate then the papers he would input the coordinates into his wrist putting notes in his pad. Handing the papers back after reading. "... and what would you do where would you go?"
he folded his arms over his chest as the captain read the papers "i only had enough time to skim over them when being assigned as guard to a box with a thing in it, they got testy when asked questions" *he stared at the crate for awhile noticing the change on the controls again, frowned slightly before looking back to the captain "duty wise i would have to report back to my command station, my choice? id rather go back home and spend time with my family if they are still around"
they both seemed to be standing watching the crate. "a killer.. in a box. For forever. Must have been someone that was very powerful.. go back to your family then.. live the life... if it is just being in the crate I should be able to just do it. I dont have anywhere else to go.. besides it's my ship.. you have those waiting for you." he said before walking back towards the bridge. "The right man for the job.. an endless one until the end." he mumbled to himself closing the bridge door behind him. Sitting down in the captain's seat. ".. right man for the job.. yeah"
the guard scuffed a small laugh as the captain thought he could deal with the box alone " as much as id like to do that captain...." speaking to him as the captain walked away " if you havent noticed, the control panel is changing on that crate, i dont know what it means, but i dont like the thought of what it could mean" glances over to the captain before he moved over to a spot against the wall making himself comfortable*
before he arrived in the bridge he turned to the guard. "in my experience.. if something isn't charged or is miss handled.. it breaks or loses power.. if it breaks two things could happen. It gets free or it breaks and whatever inside dies.. it loses power it gets out or it dies. Either way.. doesn't look good for either of us." sitting in his chair and thought about I more. ".. charged maybe.. " taking a moment before taking off from the asteroid belt there wasnt any ships on the outside of following. Kept accelerating unsure if any more would come at any time.
guard noded not wanting to think about the later of the options, if it was still alive and escaped its confines, he sat staring at the crate for awhile lost in his own thoughts before falling asleep
was cautious as he kept his eyes peeled for anything or anyone that would approach. It was a uneasy feeling having a highly dangerous thing aboard his ship unlike those he has had in the past. Right now was a different feeling as it was still asleep and he had another upon his ship to worry about.
most of the few hours that passed was quiet as the Guard slept, tho the crate was slowly loosing more green bars on the control panel as they turned yellow, those that flashed became solid and the new ones flashed, letting off a beep with each one, the hum of the crate stopping once again. The guard shifted awake staring over at it again, reaching over with a foot he gave it another kick. Seeming satisfied he made himself comfortable against the wall once more tho as he started to drift back to sleep the Crate softly thumped back. Guard quickly looked up staring at it startled and unsure if maybe he was hearing things tho nothing else was heard n just assumed it was the ship as it was in need of repairing(edited)
sitting in the captains chair as he was soon attached to his seat once more. "oo.. cold" he said to himself settling in a bit more as he sterred the ship moving ever so faster keeping an eye on the status of the repairs. As well as keeping an eye on the screen making sure nobody else was approaching them. It was going to take a little over a week to get to the station they needed too. Although he wanted to get there sooner for repairs and to get into a more friendlier, safer part. The a.i. chimed in for a moment to report a few recent news articles. Raising his eye and shook his head slightly but froze almost hearing news about his ex's. His head lowered a bit. "good for them.. overachievers ha.." clearing his throat and laughed some to break his sadness. An adrenaline booster kicked in as it went into his leg. "ah.. aaaaa... shit okay I'm good woo!! Yeah! Let's go!" he excitedly yelled to himself pushing the ship a bit faster.
the bay remained quiet beside the sounds of the ship for the length of time. The guard woke from his sleep stretching some before getting to his feet feeling stuff from sleeping on the floor. He peered at the crate remembering the noise still unsure of the contents status. Seeing aa it was quiet n contained for the time being he made hus way up to find some grub as he had not eaten in awhile n the past events made him hungry
while driving the ship his food was processed and he could choose what he got but it was injected into him as he continued to wear his suit that covered his whole body.
the guard made a quick zap meal and sat quietly while eating it. It wasn't much but it supplied the nutrients he needed in a small microwave meal. Meanwhile in the cargo bay the crate made a few faint thump sounds before falling silent once again(edited)
the ship continued its course sailing through the big open darkness. The navigator shifting in his seat like a restless foot. An uneasy feeling creeping behind his neck. "... either way it just isn't right.. isn't that thing suppose to be in some sort of prison if it was so dangerous?.. like high tech more than .. that box." 'Crate' "hm?.. yes the crate.. any news on anything on those coordinates?" 'Negative the closet planets in those areas are further apart than together. Open space is what it lies.'
the guard got up stretching his legs after finishing his meal, a thought kept bothering him but he had no full proof of it, did it make a noise? is it awake? he shook his head clearing the thoughts from his mind but it still didnt fully put him at ease. Taking his post near the Crate again he stood quietly tho a lil further from it as being near it unnerved him a bit
continued to drive their way. He couldn't really do anything else but at least keep them moving. It was something and hopped that when they get to the first coordinates they are assigned to go they will give them more information or atleast something to help. He thought about this while driving his mind wondered about things as his mind scattered around playing with situations and things that could would should happen. Any ifs or buts he would keep to the side hoping it wouldnt come to many of the outcomes playing in his head.
The Guard sighed deeply trying to break up the silence of the room as he stood quietly near the Crate, he would glance over at it once in awhile keeping an eye on the Control Panel watching to see if there was any new changes from the last time. So far it was quiet and stable...for the most part. He was half tempted to knock on it to test a theory he had on the possible noise response from the night before while he was half asleep but was to afraid to find out the answer if it did answer back.
his mind continued to wonder soon it went back to the news from earlier. His fist clenched a bit. "sleazy good for nothing..." he mumbled putting the ship on autopilot skipping the A.I. crossing his arms infront of him. "so many gone and that's all they say.. they should know better
. Over achievers .. things handed to them."he was talking to himself and the a.i. it took an hour for him to calm down and drew a heavy sigh. ".. let's just go and keep moving forward.. right?" 'Affirmative' "right..* leaning back in his seat and turned off autopilot and increased the acceleration*
the guard started pacing around the room out of boredom and to pass the time before pulling out a deck of cards as he sat himself down on a small box using a taller one as a table and began to play solitaire
the a.i. started giving him shots to cool him down both literally and mentally. His mind was slowly stopped wondering. ".. that's not... a.. fair.." his eyes glazed over as he was in and out of consciousness as he was still able to drive with the guidance of the A.I. "im.. going to turn you f.."
crate made a few soft shuffle shounds from inside, it was hard to hear for a moment due to the thickness of the box and the subtle movements inside, tho didnt last long. the gaurd paused a moment hovering a card in his hand over his stack as he glanced over to the crate watching and listening to it before slowly moving again unsure if he heard it or if it was his imagination
was unconscious behind the wheel. 'your emotions are getting away from yourself the company has to be careful with emotions they will get you into trouble. I am only looking out for you as your overseer.' *he could hear everything that was being said to him. Although he hated the a.i. for this. It wasnt the first time but it was better than the alternative. *
April 26, 2021
guard went back to playing with his card game passing it off but kept it in the back of his mind while questioning himself as he muttered under his breath " maybe its just me, been rather quiet lately, nerves getting shot from this. im fine, still here, its still in the box....be nice to know when we can land again..." he stared at the crate a moment not hearing anything and gave a shrug as he went back to his game
It was three days later when he finally regained consciousness. "ugh.. my head. I hate you so much right now.." *looking around some. "Ugh.. where are we now." reading the position as he sat up straighter and stretched. 'good morning. It has been 3 days since you were unavailable. Company policy says a worker's mental health is important for a good worker.' "I'm going to rip every wire every part of your chips into pieces if you do that again.." his eyes glazed with rage.
during that time the Guard had remained to himself playing his card game, getting food and sleeping while keeping an eye on the Crate, the crate itself had lost all its green light bars and replaced them with yellow bars, all now solid and not flashing. every so often a small chime would come from it which kept the guard on edge and keeping his distance from it. Guard had tried knocking on the captains door but never got a response, this time he tried again knocking bit hard out of annoyance and bit of anger from being ignored while feeling a bit paniced from the Crates new situation
hearing the banging his head lifted some as he looked towards the door. "... let him in.." the door shifted and opened as the guard would see the captain strapped and wired to the ship as wires and other devices were attached all over his body. "..." it wasnt something he enjoyed or liked to show to anyone else.
guard stepped back a bit surprised the door opened this time then hesitated again to seeing the captain strapped into the chair the way he was "....uhh...." alot of his anger seeming to have vanished from the sudden sight "so...i have news..."(edited)
it was attached to his suit before slowly the wires and devices got disconnected from his body. He would stand up but fell to the floor, slowly getting back up. "News? What kind? Did you figure out anything more about the crate?" He asked as he sounded exhausted.
seeing the captain drop the floor he went over and grabbed a firm hold of him pulling him up to his feet "you could say that?....maybe you should come see for yerself" wrapped an arm around the captains waist helping hold him up as he lead him out and down to the cargo bay room where the crate was and showed him the panel " its all yellow, no more green lighting.....and....i think its moving..." glances to the captain offering to let him go so he could be on his own feet
was helped up and stumbled a bit as they walked "good.. it better be something. We can use." soon began walking almost normaly, nearing the cargo bay. Staring at the crate and stepped closer to it as he leaned down at the control panel. Looking at the lights and other devices. "okay.. moving huh?.." he said curiously he was hesitant as he reached out his hand. "well for one looks like it's not doing that well.." barely touching the crate, his finger knuckled up as he gave a soft knock on it. "... maybe it can hear us too.." he was still for a moment "excuse me?.. are you okay in there?... I heard you can move around..."
crate remained silent a moment till the captain knocked on it, after bout 2 minutes there was a soft knock back then a light scrape sound before going quiet again. the guard stepped back no longer wanting to be near it anymore "you uh....whats yer thoughts?"
his eyes went wide as he stared at the crate "..oh.. uh.. okay then." turning his head towards the guard. "uh.. its alive whatever it is.. so uh." half of him was telling to open it the other half telling him to move his hand away from on top of the crate and run like hell. His finger tapped again along the crate making a rythm almost with his knocking before stopping. "if these panels are correct.. we.. I think may have company soon."
after the Captain tapped again there was a pause of quiet before being followed by a soft tap back, tho in no rythm, just 3 soft taps. The guard took a few more steps back "yeah....thats what im afraid of....." staring at the crate wide eyed and nervous before glancing at the captain "so....how much longer for ship repairs?"
listening to the taps he looked over at the guard. "yeah.. it will take us two more days a little less if we go faster. But the lights changed didnt they.. how fast have they been changing?" he asked while reaching over giving the crate a soft pat. Then standing back up "so who knows if we will reach the first checkpoint in our tour of the stars before we have more company other than what's in the crate."
the guard grunted a bit at the news then thought a moment "I honestly don't know. Iv lost track of days being back here. I never seen them actually change. Just noticed that they had....i wana say...maybe...each change was about a week apart? Maybe less?" he cringed a bit at the thought trying to give an estimate of how often he noticed the changes "hopefully repair crew wont be to nosey...we got a tarp?"(edited)
stretching out his legs and arms out making a popping sound. ".. so a week apart or less.. well if that's the case then we might be having company either before or after ship repairs." he crouched down leaning towards the crate. "greetings I'm the captain of this ship.. I'd like to say welcome.. and if you could please wait until after repairs have been made to join us.." he gave a nervous smile unsure of he was even heard or if his language was understood. Looking at the guard. "tarp? Hmm we may have something along those lines.. but then again this was a no touch transport so I thought they would be smart about strapping it down while loading." * walking over to the wall as he opened up a panel pushing a few buttons as the wall opened up slightly showing a different kinds of straps and covers. He took one strap and a cover then placed the cover over the crate the strap was netted and coiled around the top and edges of the grate as he fastened them down to the floor.* "There that should help.." he then walked over to a small round orb and picked it up off the shelf of the wall. "here.. I guess I'll give one to you.." he offered the orb to the guard.
* guard crossed his arms watching as the captain tried speaking to the crate. Seemed ridiculious but maybe it would help any later issues.* " at this point I think all no touch rules go out the window..." he helped the captain cover the crate n lock it down to the floor. Looking to the orb he carefully took it looking it over. "what is this?"
chuckled some. "well everything's been touched so no touch freight is just not moved freight..." looking at the orb. "it's a static net.. this is how it works." tossing his orb at the guard as it exploded into a net wrapping around the guard firmly and pulling him to the ground with his much it weights
guard tried to duck seeing it thrown at him only to get dragged to the ground "oi, i get it, tho dont wana know the static part if its alright with you....at least not on me..." struggles a bit uncomfortable "may i get up now?"
thinks for a bit as he held a small remote. "this is the remote to induce the shock and electrical element of the net. To turn it up you pull this." he reached for a little antenna at the top. But then stopped. "yeah you can.." pushing the gray button on the side the net unwrapped around the guard and formed back into an orb.
once it was off he got up and dusted himself off then tucked the orb into a side pocket "....thanks, im sure that will come in handy...hopefully..." he looked over to the captain with a bit of a glare for the small attempt of a shock joke. He looked back to the Crate for a moment "maybe the tarp will help keep it contained a lil longer as well...besides prying eyes"
thinking for a bit as he walked back over to the wall and inputted a code into the control panel. "alright .. there happy now?" he said as the crate and the other boxes in the storage area disappeared from the guards sight. Although he could still see the cargo with his helmet on.
he quickly looked around noticing everything disappeared from the room. "what did you do to it? how am i suppose to watch it now? now im the one out of place in here if yer just gonna make things invisible...." points a finger at the captain " dont you even think of makin me invisible either!" * he snorted in frustration* "so now what am i suppose to do? cant exactly guard something that isnt here" he crossed his arms across his chest in a huff
he was smirking behind his helmet in thought he could make the guard think he's invisible but turned around and make everything come back to his sight. "fine.. here.* the crate was covered by the strap as it expanded and covered it down to the floor. "better?"
he looked again seeing everything was back and grumbled under his breath not sure what to think of the captain, at this point he didnt wana rtrust him not knowing what other tricks he had " itll do..."
nodding his head although he was a bit curious now about the crate even more so. He walked his way back to the bridge. "Alright well if there isn't anything else I got a ship to run." his ship was the companies although he had some things put in and was actually in the process of buying the ship off the company he worked for. With this he could live well and have his ship. Even thou he had apparently two people staying aboard his ship.
guard grunted as the captain made his way back, the guard moved to the middle of the bay keeping a distance from the crate even tho it was now strapped down to the ship floor. He sat himself on another crate and just stared at it with a slight glare for the amount of trouble it was causing them. resting a hand on a hilt making himself feel better as well as need to grab it incase it tried busting out. " God damn crate monster"
*waited a bit before leaving to make sure he wasnt needed further. He walked to the bridge and sat down in his chair once more as the worse connected to his body. He flinched a bit, "cold.. alright let's see where we're at." the doors close once more sealing behind him as he took full control again.
the guard remained staring n watching, his hand still resting on his hilt, fingers lightly tapping against it as his mind began to wander while he watched and waited. With the tarp on it he couldnt really keep an eye on the control panel, tho he figured at this point it was beyond help to watch it, and everytime it changed it would beep so he decided to keep an ear out for the sounds. Relaxing back as he shifted in his seat he tried to think of a plan tho most he wanted to do was just start blasting at it if it made any attempt to make an escape. Remembering the orb net, he pulled it from his pocket looking it over carefully
The orb net when he took it out was a silver color. Smooth to the touch looking as if it was a small light for the way it gave a warm glow. When it was around him the weight was almost like being crushed, but the orb was light almost more than anything he had ever held before.
guard seemed oddly amused by the technology of the orb, heavy yet light when in different forms. he rolled it around a bit between his fingers then began to play with it tossing it about just to amuse himself during the passing time as he got tired of staring at a crate, he tried to clear his mind and relaxe while tossing the orb back n forth between his hands watching the reflections on its surface as he did
it was the only new thing he had found around the ship. It had been four months and a few days since the guard had come to the ship. It was light and soft to the touch as he moved it backs and forth in his hands. It was almost like a ball
he continued to play with it tossing and catching it where he sat, rolling it up n down his arms and over the back of his hands keeping himself entertained that he forgot about his duty on board the ship n the crate, he was enjoying himself for once like a child with a toy
the ship continued its course though he could see the guard playing around with the ball. Like a child he was able to always view around the ship with tiny cameras all around. "heh.. give you something that can be dangerous and here you are playing with a new toy." he said to himself moving his attention to the outside along with the A.I.
the guard continued playing with the orb a few more hours before getting up with a stretch, tucking the orb back in his pocket he headed to the galley getting himself another nutrition meal pack as he zapped it to heat it up then sat and quietly ate at the table. He lightly strummed his fingers on the table unaware before realizing it then tapped slower as a thought came to mind. then tried tapping something out trying to remember the sequence
sitting in the captains seat navigating through the dark skys of space. He would argue with the a.i. some just to pass the time. Every once in a while checking his bank it was still unreal of what he was looking at. What was this thing in the crate and why does it need guarding. If it was dangerous why wasnt it destroyed? So many questions only one person or thing could tell him and it was confined to a crate. The a.i. continuously looked up articles on any unnatural murders or serial killers around the universe thousands of profiles came up within just a short period of time.
once he finished eating he got up tossing his garbage in the incinerator then headed to his room still tapping his fingers against his leg deep in though trying to figure out what was on his mind, once in his room he rummaged around for a book, finding it he laid back on the bed and began reading thru it

it was quiet again this time he sat in his chair and drove the a.i. continued searching and scanning for both outside ships or life forms. There was one other life form it picked up but that was one they knew already was existing inside the crate. Unknown genetics since the crate was keeping out the prying eyes even with scans.
rereading thru some parts of the book while tapping on a side table making sure he had his patterns right he quickly got up and headed back to the Bay, quietly walked past the captains door then ran down the steps before cautiously walking up to the crate stopping a few feet from it. book in one hand he stared at the Crate for awhile trying to muster up the courage to test his theory hoping it doesnt open a can of worms and back fire on him. Slowly slide steps up to the crate and firmly knocked on it in a sequence then quickly stepped back putting a hand on his hilt side weapon as he waited and listened(edited)
glancing back at the screen seeing the guard returned with a book in hand. "going to do some light reading." soon seeing that he tapped on the crate and stepped back. "oh? Going all in are ya that's good."
not hearing anything he relaxed to a stand n stared at it grumbling under his breath "you tapped back at the captain. Come on. Respond!" he stepped back over to it n pounded hard on the cover the same sequence from earlier. The thudding of his fist resounding thru the bay. There was a pause of silence then an alarm started going off. The tarp over the control panel flashed red giving it an eerie glow. He quickly backed away from it " well shit" * reaching for his holster*
shaking his head as he slowly stood up the wires and devices still connected to him. The wires held him up as the devices swirled a bit. he set the ship on course slowing it down not letting the A.I. take over with autopilot. 'you cannot leave while driving the compan-' "I've got this it wont take long besides I am tired of sitting while driving long as I stay in the bridge I can drive." the a.i. was silent it wasn't the first time he had drove without sitting in the captains seat although the wires and devices were connected to him as he moved around.
