The Keeper

'I traveled the land my heart filled with sorrow weepin out each hour I stayed. The tears ran down my eyes as the images, sounds echoed in my ears. "I'm sorry! This was not suppose to happen!! I'm sorry!" Was all I could do I had heard about what things happened in the areas. I wanted to help them but what could I do? What could I say to help them all? How could this happen? Was all I could think about staring at the pillow. I haven't done anything. Why am I being punished to? I vowed to find a way to make things right but what could I do? I'm being punished alo for just existing. Why does it matter? what skin color I have? My gender? My sexual preference? why is there so much hate?? When was it okay to turn your back on your beliefs? Why is there so much killing? Stealing?

Judgement has finally come. I must find some answers. Why thou? Who said it was okay to Kill? Rape? Steal? Lie? Who? Why?

Soft heavy breathing echoed through my mind placing the ink back down on top of the desk. "I got this, it'll be okay." Whispering to myself, "Everything is going to be okay." The parchment crumbled up to the side of the desk by itself as another piece of parchment was placed along the top of the desk. The parchment uncoiling itself out in front of me. My eyes staring blankly at the empty parchment. My hand tapping slightly against the desk, "Just, ya know. Write it out simple." talking to myself before taking another deep breath. Closing my eyes trying to picture the words sorting inside my head writing it out on the parchment in front of me. Only to open my eyes seeing that the parchment was still empty.

"Okay." Touching the ink to the parchment and began writing.

'I The Keeper of the Dragontree hearby take my oath.

I writing this to give back everything my people have taken with interest for all of our wrongs against others or both our own kind and to those we shared this land with. I would like to thank you for waiting for this. I don't know how else to say how sorry I am. You all have so much and so many reasons to want / need revenge on us all. We have built so much and done so many things wrong. I don't know how to make things right anymore.

What can I do? To make things right in this world? What can The DragonTree do for you? I am the Keeper. How may I serve you? Anyway, whatever is decided it will be done. The DragonTree will make the wrongs that has been done wright. Will things get better or am I just not doing things right? Everytime I do the right thing but I'm the bad guy still? Why? All I've ever done was try and help. My attempts at helping it seems to be the wrong way to do things.

I will continue to keep trying to help. My soul will live on, my name may change in your realms. I promise to always come to aid those who ask for my help. I am The Keeper. I will continue to be no matter what, as the blood of the founding fathers. I return all land that once belong to you all. I return with great sorrow and I only ask to do what you want with it. I personally do not have much but it is yours. As the rightful owner of this land. I am ready, please allow me to at least try and make things right. Things that were wronged to break bondage that is done and over do. Please and Thank you.

To all deities of the lands I write this now, I apologize for all those that have wronged you. To all souls left wondering these lands and others, I will make sure you find you way home. To the deities that have been waiting for you all for so long. To families that have been waiting for closure and truth.

Signed,
The Keeper'

Looking at the words on the parchment with a heavy sigh. "Shit, this looks horrible. I messed it up." Edged of the parchment curled up rolling it off of the desk and onto the floor. "Wait." Quickly reaching out to grab the parchment only to fumble around with it. "Hey! N-noo don't take that one. I can make a better wa." The parchment dissolved quickly, "..Sh." my head lowered onto the desk. "Okay. That's fine. Totally." Another parchment unrolled on top of the desk lightly tapped against the back of my head.

"Hm?" lifting my head to see the parchment. "Ah, Alright." Two words were written at the top middle of the parchment.

'The Truth'

"The Truth?" Reading it aloud for a moment, "Write. The Truth? uh.." Staring at the words with my head tilted to the side as I thought about what it could mean. Reaching up to my head scratching slightly, leaning back in the chair a bit more. "What truth? Which truth? All truths? My truths?"

"Or the truth of what I just wrote? Maybe." Standing up from the desk pushing my chair back in front of the desk before walking around the desk pacing. My head glancing every once in a while at the parchment then at the desk. Sitting back down after the third time around the desk. "Okay, I'll just start writing."

'The truth is once a deity is taken out of law, justice, documents. The contracts, vows or oaths made under their name were null and void. It is like you insulted, spit in the face of your own deity you worship. Disregarding what you just did and acting as if you were above them and that your actions were justified. The truth is you just insulted the deity you worship. An example of this would be a nation I was born into.

People came from a distant land crossing a large sea of water. The people left their own homes and lands for more or less. The same reason to find a place were they could live in peace and away from those that wished to do them harm. Some coming to the new land to escape the governments of the old lands to make a new start. Finding that the land they found was already inhabited by another people. Some were greeted with open arms, the people of the land shared and helped the ones that came from the sea. Only to have the people from across the sea make deals and contracts using vows & oaths of their deities to make this land a place where they all could live in peace with each other.

But once the deals were done they killed and did horrible things to those that once helped them and gave without dishonoring their own deities, beliefs. The people from across the sea caged and tortured the people of the land driving them out of their homelands and into places some barely survived. The people of the land had kept their end of the contracts. But the people from across the sea allowed some to live, letting their numbers grow slightly only fulfilling some of their end of the contracts. The people from across the sea grew in number and in strength from their own people. Using their own like livestock 250 years of both their own people and the people of the land. Many more people came from  across the sea wanting the same as the original people. Some weren't so lucky and some were.

The government made by the people across the sea took the deity they worshiped and disgracefully. Dismissed their existence, taking the protection that their deity. They had said was protecting the lands across all their territory. Now was not in their oaths or vows. As the deity they worshipped wouldn't have wanted any of the killed and horrible things that the people from across the sea had done. If the people from across the sea had continued to live in peace with the people of the land things would have been different. But as they took the deity they worshiped out of the contracts, vows, oaths. They no longer have any rights to those contracts vows or oaths. They have broken each contract and the people of the land are truthfully and lawfully the rightful owners once again of the lands they once shared with the people from across the sea.

Signed,
The Keeper'

Placing the ink down rubbing my hands together feeling sore, "Ow." Wincing in pain some as my hands continued to rub against each other. "Why's that hurt?" The parchment rolled up like before but this time on the desk and dissolving. "I hope that was the truth you, were wanting me to write about. That's what I think is the truth anyway." My eyes growing heavy, "Why am." I didn't get a chance to say anything else as my body went limp. Falling against the desk pushing it back slightly as my body laid upon the floor.
