(Night scene)

Horns honking, as distant voices yelled out at each other, sirens going off in the distance. Each could be heard coming from an open window. “Dammit. I got to remember to close that window at night.” A groggy voice said aloud. The window closed shut with a loud thud as it hit the bottom. In the corner of the room a makeshift cassette player, was playing. The cassette had writing on the front saying, 'City life'. A small copper piece stabbed inside of the player causing it to power down. The noises immediately stopped. “Well, it's another beautiful night...”
The streetlight outside was faint, flickered randomly it was still bright enough to see things in the the short distance. A broken down coco-clock hung slanted on the wall, wires were coming out of its mechanics. Black dot's were faded from the face of the clock, the small hand missing its tip. The large hand being bent down towards the back of the clock, it clicked twice the sound was like a small distorted bird chirping. The time was 8:43 p.m., if anyone still knew how to read one.
The living room had two couches one on either side of the room. One next to the window looking out at the city, it's cover was ripped in a few places the middle of the back, the armrests. The cushions on the couches were all inside a large black bags. The other couch knocked over on the floor, near a doorway. The kitchen had only four things in it, a gas powered oven.
Which was made up of multiple different oven parts. A one legged table with three legs made from cement bricks. A wooden crate beneath the table with a small ripped cushion on top was a seat. A mini-fridge, the door handle broken in pieces on the ground. In the kitchen another doorway, leads to a staircase down the lower parts of the building.
The bathroom on the other side of the living room only had a toilet. A crack going from the middle to the top right-side of the toilet. A small bucket held dripping water from the ceiling. A wall was missing in the living room, where the bedroom would have been. Only the door and doorframe stood freely to a drop off of two stories high.

Soon grabbing a pair of boots then a coat walking out the door locking it behind.
Who would steal such things in that place? There was nothing there of value, but junk others have tossed away. Walking downstairs there was no wall to keep anyone out but only a few broken pillars here and there the building was nothing but on its last legs. The only floor that was still intact was the third floor. Feet tapping along the ground of the stairs being quick on each step. Not long making it down to the ground floor through the building.
(Character description)
Peeking around the corner of a pillar in front of the building, looking hard at each dark area before making his way around the corner. Luckily there were no neighbors nobody to fight with or argue with. Although, a few yells could be heard in the distance at night, rarely during the day. If you were quiet enough you could hear voices faintly talking to each other like there were others around but when you would look out or call to them.
There would be no answer, sometimes late at night you could hear a faint music box. It would be playing the same song over and over again. Who would be listening to that in a place like this? With all the problems in this world. Who would still be so attached to something so meaningless as a music box? Walking down the street keeping close to the buildings of rubble. His eyes darting around keeping a watch on the surroundings around him. The wind blew calmly, in the sky there were only a few stars out this night, but who knew if they aren't just the lights from the ships that came in and out of the harbor.
Climbing up on to the top of one of the collapsed buildings taking his time making sure the flooring and walls were stable enough for weight. 'I am..'
'a s-s-su-p-per light.'
'fa-h-haat feather..' He studdarded as part of the flooring began creaking. Staring around as he slowly continued to scoot along the floor reaching the top.

Hanging onto a large pole that had been sticking out of the top as I looked around down the hill small pits of fire, smoke showed its face in the east and scattered around the north it was wintertime the snow was just falling down it was a black-white night. The wind had been blowing to the southeast so it would help out some of the fires thinking and wondering why so many large amounts of fires they didn't seem to be ones that would be set for others to find or to cook anything no scent was in the air of any food.
Looking out to the north soon noticing a fire to the north-west that was close it seemed to be at least two miles away from the building. seemed like voices started getting louder, closer. It sounded like a raging brawl against some people that didn't agree with each other. Shaking his head in annoyance while hopping off of the collapsed building, heading back to the rubble home.
Walking along the side of a building. “Well, I guess. I should get, what I can. Head out don't want to attract their attention this way.'
'I don't hear them much anymore, maybe after they leave this area. I can see, what. I can salvage there. Maybe, find some good food..'
'That'd be nice.” It wasn't long, the sounds of other people were getting closer. Picking up the pace, jogging between buildings keeping as quiet as possible. Soon seeing a large light from behind me turning my head glancing at the surroundings before jumping into a pile of rubble of a building next to the building used as a temporary home. The air a large ball of fire came crashing down into his home burning and collapsed. The building was demolished within a matter of seconds.
'I was too.'
'Late' looking at his home another ball of fire crashed into another building further away from the first one.
Laying in the rubble staring at the smoke rising from the building. Yelling and unaudioable shouts were getting closer. The fire attracting others that were nearby, thinking of what to do, 'I could hide maybe they wouldn't find me. Or fight or should I just stand there and do nothing. Let them do what they wish.'
'End it all. Perhaps I could just keep running and soon enough these fights would end. Right?' It wasn't long before any answers were picked. Other people were quickly approaching the fire. The fire balls kept appearing in the air and crashed down into random buildings. Smoke high in the air blacked out the moon and stars that were showing.
People ran in a panic with weapons in hand fleeing for their lives. “RUN Run!! We're almost there!” A group of people some wounded others were unharmed. Some wounded limped as fast as they could to keep up with everyone else, others were carried.
He watched from the rubble, quickly ducking into the manhole that had been exploded open. Climbing down a few steps from the ladder down further into the sewers. 'No. nope. Won't run with them not going to be able to do much for them anyway. At least no-not here.'
Stepping on the ground glancing around at the darkness of the sewer only small bit of light showed from the fires above. 'I'm in the sewers, I'll be safe for a while or have I just stepped into a more dangerous place?' Flickers of light shined through the manhole as the fires continued. Echos of screams were heard throughout the night had fallen into the manhole. Grabbing the first one that I seen quickly hoping I wouldn't have to fight or end up like those up above..
The fires were the only light in the manhole and into the sky. Soon the noises grew less and less I seen a hand hanging in the hole pulling the body down it fell with a splash into the water on the side of the cement sidewalk of the sewer. It was a women injured she was still moving around and holding her wound. I looked and watched her crawl onto the cement my eyes never left her holding my weapon as if she was going to attack.
Soon falling down into the sewer grabbing the women's leg biting down she screamed as it tore into her leg. Quickly I readied my weapon and pierced the beast in the back digging it around in the beast the light had gone and all was black as the manhole was covered with rubble, whatever was up above. I kept on lifting up my weapon and piercing the body of the beast for hours not being able to see and not wanting it to get away and attack me from behind or anywhere else for that matter.
The sounds the beast made it deafening as I was piercing it with my weapon not looking just thrusting it as hard as I could. Soon I let the weapon go after a while, pushing as hard as I could putting the weapon all the way into the beast making sure it was dead. The women was whimpering and grunting as she was kicking the head of the beast while I was piercing it with my weapon.
I laughed a bit, “miss? Miss? Are you there? Are you alright?” I said panting it was a long time since I had been in the same place as another person for that matter injured or not. All I heard was grunting I followed the sound with my ears. I heard a scream of pain, “oooowwww your on my hand!!” lifting my leg a bit then kneeling down and touching around for her before touching her face holding it up a bit, “sorry..."
"Are you alright? Hows your leg? How are you feeling?” moving his fingers touching along her body. "Sorry, can't see much so excuse my hands." feeling the warmth of her blood and her other hand on her side it felt as I pushed and took off my shirt tearing it up into pieces and wrapping it around her torso. She slapped me when I touched her breasts and kicked my side. As she soon stopped moving I laughed, 'good you passed out I hope.'
'well miss I hope your going to be alright but I need to get you somewhere safe to actually know whats wrong' picking her up carefully having her in my arms I walked against the wall so I would know where the end of the cement was. Finding a ladder I placed her down next to the ladder. “alright miss I will be back.” climbing up the ladder to the manhole slowly I picked up the cover it being silent enough outside slowly poking my head out. It was clear nothing was around for a while and there was a small fire still burning 'well this must be the aftermath after they had there fun with this area'
Climbing back down and grabbing her and placing her on my shoulder and placing her next to the manhole as I climbed out. Laughing a bit to myself 'Well I did it I'm alive' looking at the women 'Well we made it out...” sighing and crawling over taking off her top clothing and looking at her wounds trying not to feel or play with her breasts out of respect. Taking the tore up clothing and making a patch job on her wounds and wrapping her shirt around her leg and tearing it apart so I could use the pieces for her side wound.
Placing his coat around her body to keep her warm at least. Standing up, looking around, 'Well I guess I should find us somewhere to rest.' standing up smelling nothing but smoke from the recent fire looking around for a while finding a small opening in a collapsed building. 'Well room for just one of us in here.'
walking back over to the women and picking her up placing her in the opening and climbing inside and dragging the rest of her inside. To the middle of the space and crawling back out. 'Well miss I think your going to be alright your wounds weren't to bad have a good rest miss' reaching and placing a canteen of water next to her just in-case she had woken up, was thirsty. Standing up and walking around the newly burned and destroyed area he was in looking for anything that would help out and way it could.
(stay or find another place?)
The next morning waking up while leaning on the rubble rubbing his eyes as the sun glared into his face and then his whole body. Stretching out his legs and arms, rolling over on his stomach as he looked inside of the ruble his eyes widen as he jumped out of the entrance of the rubble shelter. 'No way.'
'How is that possible..'
'No no no there is no way that...” slowly looking back into the entrance at the female his eyes looked and stared at her in wonder and amazement. Her body was in the shape of a human female but her bodily features were that of a (animal) a long dirty (color of her fur) tail.
Her ears twitching this way and that like it was trying to lock on a sound but couldn't. Her chest was being lifted then back down slowly as she took a small breath in and exhaled, 'never in my mind would I think I would see one of you..' reaching in and gently touching her ear as it twitched as he touched it the wind blew cold as the snow was continuing to fall down quicker, thicker.
Looking around and grabbing some rocks placing them in the front of the entrance so it would block some of the wind so she would be warm at least looking around he remembered piercing the beast with his weapon had he just saved the thing that he had slain. Shaking his head, 'No way.' standing up and running towards the manhole and jumping down and remembering and following the wall to the place were he had slain the beast and the manhole had light shining down into the sewer so it was at least enough light to see his jaw-dropped while looking straight ahead of him there laid the beast he had slain he saved another from this beast and now it laid there right there in front of him.
Looking at the beast over and over again touching the weapon still in its back. Grabbing the weapon and slowly taking it out the beast the sounds of the bones scrapping onto the weapons blade. the blood that was squirting out as the weapon was pulled out, taking the weapon in hand and taking her weapon that was next to her where she had fell and looking at both of them in amazement and wonder what did he get himself into what was he going to do when she had woken up or healed?
Would she come after him with her weapon or would she be grateful so many questions passed through his mind as he walked back to the manhole and climbing up the ladder with the weapons held onto tightly around his arms. Crawling out of the manhole and throwing her weapon to the side towards the entrance but not to close afraid she might wake up and decide he would be next. Then climbing back down the ladder with his weapon he had used in hand and walked back to the beast and looked at it for a while. 'What should I do?'
he thought about it for sometime then decided that if she was going to do anything she would need to get better and It was up to him to heal her he sliced into the beast and started to skin the beats of it's fur softly chuckling a bit thinking of her wearing another coat of fur thinking she might feel a bit awkward about it then he started slicing into the flesh cutting pieces off of the beast, 'well if your going to skin something might as well take some food to might taste better than it smells.'
'hopefully anyways.' taking pieces placing them on the fur on the ground and carving out as much meat as he could. Placing the last of the meat on the fur and sighing the sun had changed positions in the sewer. He pulled the fur to the ladder and her tied the fur together and placed some of the meat on the ground on the dry spots of the cement and carried some of the meat up the ladder and placed them in the snow and climbed back down and grabbed the rest of the meat and climbed back up the ladder
crawling onto the ground afterwords gathering up the meat off the ground and placing them all back on the fur and dragging them towards another small opening close to the injured women in the other space as he placed the meat into the dry ruble place and taking the fur afterwords cutting it into two pieces. Dragging the pieces of fur to the covered entrance and unblocked it from the rocks and crawled inside placing one of the pieces on top of her body and on top of his coat that was still wrapped around her body.
Checking her wounds they had seemed to stopped bleeding and started to close up he touched her fur on her stomach and looked at the rest of her body to see if there was something else perhaps he didn't see in the dark. Shaking his head and placing the blankets back over her and crawled out of the crawl-space and looking around standing up, 'well I don't think we could stay here for very long we need a bigger place so I could lay down in a bit of comfort...'
thinking of the sewers he shook his head, 'no don't know whats all down there plus its not good for her wounds. Maybe I could find another little place to call him for us.' he blocked the entrance once more and headed out looking around for a place to fit them both and maybe some food to store in as well. Looking around all day the night fell fast as he returned to the entrance it had gathered a bit of snow as he sat down and curled up next to the entrance there was a bit of heat coming from the inside.
(snow and keeping her wounds looked after and a week passes food search possibly moving her to a different location)
Slowly she opens up her eyes tossing and turning a bit grunting and groaning in pain still from her wound that has almost been healed. Looking around the small place she sat up on her elbows and started to crawl a bit to the outside looking at the mound of snow in front of the entrance she started to scratch away at the snow panicking and thinking she was snowed in with the rubble. Her siding hurting as she crawled over to a corner of the small pace and leaned against it resting her head on a piece of ruble that was poking out.
Soon footsteps pierced the ground as they got closer the sound of them became louder she could hear it at first she thought to ask for help but who knows who or what it would be lurking on the other side she kept her silence and the footsteps stopped in front of the entrance then another sound was heard like something fell she grabbed the nearest rock and held it to her chest and took a deep breath and held it up ready to defend herself. A hand slowly entered the rubbed cave touching the ground from where she had been laying feeling it and then a voice muffled from the snow.
'miss are you alright in there? Are you warm? Don't worry I saved you and helped you while you were wounded. I'm coming in now.'
"If that’s alright I have food with me for you since your awake now.” slowly the hand entered the small space once more then the other holding a thick coat. Quickly she grabbed the coat and wrapped herself around with it to keep her warmer. Then slowly a head entered the rubbed cave looking down at the ground them the whole body after wards leaning against the entrance so the wind wouldn't come in as much. His head was wrapped up with a thick coated fur only his eyes were seen which were a hazel brown.
“so you are doing well I see and moving around that’s good here you must be hungry.” opening up his coat and pulling out a large container of some meat that had been cooked, then placed into the container, “here eat you look like you need it more than I do” she was thinner than she was when he had saved her. She grabbed the container and started biting, taring the meat in a hurry.
Smiling watching her devour the meat as he reached into his pocket. She stopped while a piece of meat hanging out of her mouth to her chin. Pulling out a canteen and taking a drink from it then handing it to her wiping the top of the canteen. She looked at him then slowly chewing on the meat and reaching her paw out for the canteen and taking it quickly sniffing the top carefully making eye contact with him at all times not letting her eyes off of him.
Swallowing the last of the meat that was in her mouth, slowly she took a small sip then looking at the canteen and taking a large gulp of the canteen then putting it down on the ground chewing on another piece of meat.
Looking at the canteen he took it slowly looking inside of the canteen with one eye open, “hm... thirsty to it seems I guess I should have had more. Well no worries I can get some more no problem there.” he smiled and watched her.
Turning around, “I'll be right back you stay here and get some rest and eat alright?” crawling out the entrance. She just stared at him watching his every move chewing on the meat that was in her mouth. Standing up outside the entrance he started to place some more snow on the entrance so that she wouldn't be bothered with the wind.
He left into the snow it was falling more thicker and quicker now that it was before hand it had been a light snowfall. Hugging his fur coat around him as he stepped in, and out of the snow piles. Heading to the south where his old house used to be he walked slowly his feet freezing in the snow as he fought forward in the snow and wind. Reaching the large pile that was once his home digging threw and pulling out piles of cement and dirt from the ruins of his former home.
Looking down noticing a crawl space looking in while he got onto his belly and started to crawl into the small space soon coming up on a small area it was big enough for him to stand up in and walk two steps in each corner and it was sheltered from the wind and snow. Also noticing in one part of the space was the old fridge burned and broken on the sides and the door almost falling off the hinges.
Walking over to the fridge and sliding the door a bit to see what was inside. There was one thing still in the fridge pulling it out and looking inside the paper bag it was a bottle of wine. It was an old brand the company wasn't even around anymore it was at least one hundred years old or more. Wrapping the paper bag back around it and holding it close to him he smiled, “well at least your still with me right old friend.'
'been a while since we have had the pleasure of each others company but someday you will be poured and enjoyed but today is not your day my friend. You will be enjoyed in time.” with that he placed it in a pocket of his coat and looked around once more it was a big enough place that both could be comfortable but looking at the things holding everything up it wouldn't be a stable for long, and soon it would be just another pile of rubble.
Crawling back out of the rumbling pile of rubble of his old home. Quickly making it out before it had collapsed barely feeling the pressure on his body at the end but popping out and making it safely out of the rubble. Feeling the bottle on his pocket was still together he stood up and stretched his limbs, looking around noticing the snow was still falling thick but wasn't as windy anymore as he started back to the new home.
Sneezing as he passed the third collapsed building and continued heading up the way he had taken down. Rubbing his nose, pulling his coat closer for some more warmth finally back at the spot and pulling away some snow then crawling back in slowly laying on the ground between entrance, moving his feet to the inside, sitting up, placing his back to the entrance once again. He looked at her as she was curled up in a ball and holding on to the container which was empty she had eaten every piece of meat and was now asleep with her bandages placed on the ground next to her and the new bandages that were laid out were gone.
All he could do was smile and lean on the entrance and lower his head as he slowly started to fall asleep his feet in their boots were freezing cold and almost frost bit. The next morning he awoke with her staring and sniffing him his eyes popped open as she jumped back and sat up straight as they both just stared at each other for a while until silence was heard from the outside.
Not even the sound of a bird was heard they both froze as he looked up and around listening with his ears moving his head side to side seeing if he could hear anything. Now looking at her then gently touching her side, her arm reached up, slapped his face hard then held her paw and whimpered as she had slapped him all was heard was a metallic sound.
He took off the fur hood he had made for his face and it revealed to her he had a metal plate all around his face. Her facial expressions was that of wonder and shock to see someone with a metal face. The mask had a lock in the back her paws gently touched the mask and felt all around it her eyes filled with amazement and wonder.
(days go by)
(large city)
(we reach the end)
Standing up and looking at the mammoth of the man his fist clenched as he looked around on the ground at all his friends that protected him and *her name* his eyes widened as he seen them on the ground and growled as everyone was on the ground wounded and not being able move the mammoth of a man laughed and said with a chuckle in his throat. “well isn't this grand your the last one and look at you I bet you can't even lift up a weapon”
growling looking down and gripping the mask that was my prison on my face and started to turn it and place the key that I was given into the lock unlocking it and letting the mask fall on the ground with a large smile and laughter escaped my lips as I listened to him, the mammoth of a man asked, “did you not care for them are you that ruthless."
"come with me and we shall take all these and many more now come and join me.”
all I could do was laugh hysterically. He frowned, “fine what a shame there is no good help to find these days. good bye you worthless pathetic worm.” swinging his large arm into the ground as it tore up the ground coming towards me I then stepped in-front of her and stood there taking the full blunt of the blast.
As (the friends look up at me and yell out get out of the way!! run!!) the cloud of dust and dirt fall and I stood there with the same smile my hair covering my eyes and face halfway, “is that all you got?”
growling the mammoth man, said “I see well I guess I won't have to hold back any on you then you have impressed me that's a hard thing to do congratulations.” laughing even more,
“well you have not impressed me now stop being a wimp and come and get me you coward my mother can hit better than whatever you called that so stop playing and do something that's worth my time.” grabbing the halberd from off the ground and holding it with the tip dug into the ground. Nodding my head a bit side to side. “well I am waiting”
the mammoth man grabbing his sword, “this will be a piece of cake and you will regret those words weakling” swinging his sword down on the ground then back up and thrusting it towards him picking up the halberd and knocking the tip of the sword up into the tree behind me. “is that all you got?"
"how sad” jumping to the right side then dashing towards the mammoth man and sliced into his left thigh. Growling and grunting in pain swinging around our weapons collide into each other as i have the smile on my face, “your going to wipe that grin off your face even if I have to cut it off” he said growling as he swung around and then thrust’s towards me angling his strikes blocking them with the halberd then slapping him in the face with the blade flat part of the blade of the halberd. “well are you done yet or shall I end it for you?”
